The Barton Cup is a prize in golf in the province of Leinster in Ireland. The competition was established in 1905. It was most recently won in 2009 by Gowran Park Golf Club. The tournament is competed for annually and is under the control of the Leinster Branch of the Golfing Union of Ireland. It is open to all clubs situated in the Province of Leinster and affiliated to the Golfing Union of Ireland. Each Club is entitled to enter one team consisting of ten members and the format of the matches is Foursomes Match Play. All matches are played off scratch. The combined handicap of any pair can't be lower than 14 and the handicap applicable is the lowest playing handicap held by a player during the preceding calendar year. The five matches are played on a home and away basis (depending on the draw) while the final is played over 2 legs with each team having 5 matches at their own club.
